Fixread was incorporated with the sole purpose of providing English teaching material to the pre-academic level student preparing for academic studies.
In 2008, 3 university teachers of ESL reading comprehension for academic purposes created a unique, innovative  course  for teaching English reading comprehension.

-The company started by self-publishing the coursebook  A Reader’s Guide to Academic English.
-In its first year of sales, it  sold to 17 colleges around Israel and was hailed by teachers and students alike.
-The book received the endorsement of the “Association for the Promotion of Education", a governmental agency for advancing post-high school programs.

Following the book's success, the material was adapted to an interactive internet format.
The online English course, which is Moodle-based, can be used either for self-learning or with the guidance of a teacher
