Dahab Herbs & spices was established in 1997 and manufactures some of the world’s best herb and spice relishes, based on 170 years old family recipes. In 1997 Noga and Noam Zahavi received their father’s blessing and went on to continue the 170 years old family tradition of making wonderful relishes, based on recipes handed down from father to son for 8 generations. 

A century and half ago, on the high mountains of Yemen, the Zahavi family grandmother, Miriam-Atika, began mixing several types of ground peppers with the local herbs and created wonderful blends to be used as spicy sauces for her food. At the time, gold trade was the main source of income for the Zahavi family. That was soon to change, however, as rumors of the Zahavi grandmother and her tasty and healthy spice blends began spreading far and wide, until they reached the ears of the king of Yemen - The Imam. After sampling the spice blends himself, he asked the grandmother to send them to the palace so that they would be added to his dishes.

The formulae and recipes for these special blends were handed down through the generations and were eventually brought to Israel by the Zahavi family.

Dahab produces several varieties of the herbs and spices relish known as “Skhug”: “Red”, “Hot Red” and “Green”. Dahab is based in Tel-Aviv and has over 45 years of experience in manufacturing this top quality spicy magic and placing it inside small jars.

Dahab always listens to its customers and their feedback and has, over the years, met nearly all customer needs. This has rewarded it with a market share of over 70% in Israel.
