Products
A very common, and occasionally fatal, complication for mechanically ventilated patients treated in intensive care units (ICU) is ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP). The pathogenesis of VAP stems from the introduction of microbial pathogens into the lower respiratory tract due to biofilm formation and secretion buildup inside the tube, as well as from microaspiration past the tube cuff. Through the redesign of devices commonly used in the ICU, Biovo's Airway Medix suite of products minimize the introduction of these pathogens, and help reduce the occurrence of other complications.
